I created this work with the hope that, even in the wake of large-scale disasters that destroy forests, living creatures, and entire landscapes, the original scenery remembered deep within people's hearts — the Landscape in the Original State — may be revived. Wings grow from the yellow branches of the “Tree of Wind.” These are wings that sense the wind, transforming its movements into dance-like artistic expression. Wind carries soil to shape the land; it carries people and gives rise to cultures. Though invisible, wind has intricate and delicate variations in strength, flow, and volume, and is deeply intertwined with our lives. It is the very breath of the Earth. The wings are made of metal mesh with a 77% open area, allowing wind to pass through and soften its movement. They also let light through, ensuring that the surrounding scenery is not obstructed. I hope this work stirs memories of the original landscape within each viewer and brings healing and enrichment to their hearts.
